Williamsburg's Civil War history completes the Historic Triangle's story and attracts tourists who visit Civil War sites nationwide
Our Mission
To tell the forgotten stories of the citizens, slaves, and soldiers of Civil War Williamsburg and to unify efforts to save and preserve core Williamsburg Battlefield land
Since 2015, more Williamsburg Battlefield land has been saved than in the previous 153 years since the battle
Our vision
For Williamsburg's Civil War history to complete the Historic Triangle's story and the preserved parcels of the Williamsburg Battlefield to be linked by a system of trails and historical markers
What We've Achieved
Installation of a memorial stone on the unmarked grave of U.S. Army Surgeon Dr. Peter Wager in the Bruton Parish Church Cemetery
- Successfully applied for a land acquisition grant through the VA Dept. of Historic Resources
Replacement and relocation of the Battle of Williamsburg Historical Highway Marker on Rte 60
- Contributed to the Civil War Trust's purchase of a 3.5-acre parcel of undeveloped, core Williamsburg Battlefield land
